EMPOWERING YOUTH THROUGH EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING LAB

The Experiential Learning Lab (ELL) Program is a paid internship initiative that provides opportunities for BIPOC students in Little Rock, AR to explore various trades and careers. Our program partners with local businesses, delivering an immersive experience that allows youth to gain insights into how a particular industry works. We offer a comprehensive curriculum, which combines both classroom learning and on-the-job training, giving them a unique opportunity to gain essential skills. Our program is dedicated to creating a positive impact on our students' lives.

"Women of all backgrounds remain severely under-represented in such well-paid jobs....Working in the trades can be difficult, particularly for women of color. Being a woman in the trades typically means finding yourself isolated from other women, lacking role models and mentors who look like you, and having to carry the weight of representing not only your gender but also women from your racial and ethnicbackgrounds, in addition to having to deal with some-times hostile attitudes and discrimination on the job."

- NATIONAL CENTER FOR WOMEN’S EQUITY IN APPRENTICESHIP AND EMPLOYMENT

We provide BIPOC girls with opportunities to learn about trade careers and offer a network of BIPOC trade professionals, locally and nationwide, to serve as mentors to support them as they navigate trade industry careers!

“The ELL Program opened my eyes to a world of possibilities. I discovered my passion for carpentry and gained valuable skills that set me on a path to success.”
